- Experimenting with materials and processes - Reading books / essays which follow similar themes - Visual Inspiration / Visual input - Self reflection / Analysis of own work - (How could I replicate a similar effect) Research to promote a technical skill - Is just creating a form of research? - Experimentation through just doing, is that technically research? - Visual Inspiration, is that research (Such as advertisements)? - What is the common ground or the “correct way to research,” is it an active process? - Critical making, critical thinking - The moment you change direction or make a decision, it is a crucial element of research. As it takes you through different routes and in different directions. Is it pragmatic, or intuitive? - Not conclusion driven (open ended) - Ongoing active process, includes creating, analysation / reflection / inspiration - Justification / Intuition, which is correct? - Repetition beyond intention - Hot/cold, why does the word research immediately give a cold feeling (issue with institutionalising art)
