router situations

because I wanted to use pi during break so I try to configure my router setting in my parents home. I discovered that it may not be able to do port mapping. and there are two routers in my home (need to ask why!). The main router, which there is a thin cable (don't know what kind) goes to exterior of the house, along with air conditioning pipe through a hole in the wall. the secondary router is connected to the main router through an ethernet cable.

I thought of the situation when I was at asked about the router situation at Varia during relearn. They also had two routers because the main one cannot install openWRT. Also looked about that using a secondary router is to compensate for the main router's coverage of limited physical space. The second router is Mercury brand. The main one is from China Mobile, which is the ISP.
