Far from Home In the film Far from Home (2019) Zhibin shares his homesickness while he lives in Rotterdam which is 9000 Kilometers away from his hometown in China. He strives to adapt and accept different culture in the Netherlands and that makes him feel further and further away from his hometown. Thus he calls his family and friends very often to keep himself in the ‘comfort zone’. In the film, Rotterdam is depicted as a beautiful and modern place but it holds an energy that is cold, strange and no sense of belonging. Along with the image, the conversations between Zhibin and his families bring us into their daily lives. Their topics are private and simple but they are saturated with love and yearning.
