review of Jeff Nichols' MUD movie premiered in Cannes film festival in 2012 in competition section and the festival itself.
It happened to me that I have been dropped down in the world's most prestigous film festival, the legendary Cannes Film Festival. And a badge was haning around my neck.
Seemed very fancy for my in the first moment, until I got to know that there are bronze, silver, gold and Diamond badges out there – I had to wear my solid coloured blackish one.
My knowledge was shallow about this event. I heard it about once a calendar year in our national news if by chance I was home by seven o'clock consuming my dinner while my parents were in front of the news.
Why this movie did not take my on this journey to Arkansas wild nature?
Ambivalent to experience that meanwhile all my friends giving me super round eyes 'Cannes???!!!' and to actually be present and participate as the tiniest fish in the crowd of the badge-owners.
Plays with the cliché there is bunch of snakes in the very intro of the story even highlighed with a short dialog not to let anybody miss it in the rows of the audience.
