Bio
Lena Müller is a theatre designer who has worked in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Her stage images interact with the spaces they inhabit, creating installations for playing in. She often merges film and video into her designs for live-performances.
Lena Müller studied stage design at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam. Since September 2010 she has followed the Master in Lens Based Digital Media at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam.
Most recently, Lena Müller has designed the set for Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party (2011) and Land Zonder Woorden by Dea Loher (2011), both at Het Nationale Toneel in The Hague.
In June 2011, Lena Müller was nominated for the Prague Quadrennial, worldwide exposition for design and scenography. Together with three other designers she developed the Dutch contribution to the exhibition.
The starting point for her end exam project will be the stage and video design for the play Kleine Eyolf by Henrik Ibsen.
