- TINDER is: Online dating app, more or less used as a hook-up/casual sex app but is also used in a serious way.
- How does Tinder work?
- Finds your location using GPS
- Uses your FB information to create your profile
- Tinder profile is made up of your first name, age, photos (max 6) and any pages you've liked on FB
- Allows you to have a short bio of max. 500 words, and allows you to show your education and occupation
- Tinder then finds you potential matches near you, you can narrow this down by age and distance

- Collaboration with Nation Health Service (UK) in donor registration awareness through profiles of celebs (sort of advertisement) in december 2015. When you encountered a profile of them and swiped right a message popped-up saying If only it was that easy for those in need of a li'fe-saving organ to find a match.
- Celebrities are more and more active on Tinder. DiCaprio: Obsessed with swiping on girls and seeing who's out there. This function is an answer to the frequently cited anecdotal evidence that all (straight) men on Tinder just swipe right on everyone, hoping against hope that they'll land a match. According to a report from the New York Times, men are three times as likely as women to swipe right on any given picture.

- What someone wears, along with other visual clues given off in photographs, can tell a thousand different things about them. According to Tinder this is the key to online dating.
- Online dating sites have been longer around, they haven't come close to the popularity of Tinder. Scientists and relationship specialists who study online dating suggest it isn't Tinder doing correctly, but rather what earlier dating sites have done wrong. Services like eHarmony, OKCupid and Match.com have proclaimed that their proprietary algorithms could calculate true love, or that match equations could somehow pluck two strangers to live happily ever after. That appears to be more fiction than fact.
- All that matters, at least in the beginning of a relationship, is how someone looks.
- Dating sites have long, extensive questionnaires. Tinder doesn't believe in this. This is not how we meet people in real life.

- Computerized matchmaking sprang up in the mid-1960s, promising computer-guided mathematical equations that would help people find true love with a sprinkle of ones and zeros. In 1966 The Toledo Blade noted an article describing a Tinder-like predecessor called 'Pick 'em cuter by computer'.
- Now computers incalculably smarter, yet the discussion from independent scientists is if these computers and their algorithms can actually provide matchings. According to dating sites they can help people fall in love with their algorithms.

- How does it work? Are added datapoints that measure how many times someone swipes through a particular profile, how long spend looking at a picture? Answer Rad: Tinder is adding both technical and informational data points, and that the algorithm change isn't just about new data points, but how those things are ranked against one another depending on the user. Beyond that, he wouldn't share anything definitive.
- Adding of information about work and education. Goes against the comparison of Tinder as being the same as meeting somebody in a bar. Only physical information is then available.
- With the improvements users now have the opportunity to make more informed decisions, it may influence how much they swipe based on more detailed level of information presented with each potential match. Tinder doesn't want you to swipe right too much.
