Introduction of 3 project

Time-split

WHAT/ A time-split window replace of a real one in a small room. Through half the window the viewer can view the outside world in real time. Meanwhile, the other half the window has been altered to display a real view with a time lag, at times merely a fraction of a second delayed, at other times longer.

HOW/ The glasses of half the window are replaced by two LCD sreens and the moving images shown on them are captured by hiden cameras behind the screens which is being randomly invoked from its whole timeline.

WHY/ To interrupt|hack in the original narrative and reorganize them would create a new relationship among 'old materials'. What I like to do here is to make subtle change to the stuff that we are familiar with and somehow make a chance to take a different look at them.

Sound Light Body

Sound Light Body is an stage work with involvement of media technology. Moving images are projected onto the body of performer who is regarded as a container. Sound and images are responsive to the changing form of the container, which creates the tension of this work.

The movement of the performance is detected by an IR camera, then he can easily manipulate the image and sound by moving his body. He himslef merged in the sound-image and also be able to respond to the change of image and sound.

What interests me is that the content of the work is in a state of flux, which can be replaced or transformed contantly. For me, I only created the system to let it happen, and the result could be different each time when it is carried out.

Seeing clearly in darkness

Seeing clearly in darkness is an non-vision threatre work, which includes two sections; the black box and the display area.

The blackbox itself is an altered shipping container which is totally dark and with audio system. Participants from public can easily access in to perform inside and the whole performance will be recorded by IR camera and then be showing on live in the display area.

The interesting thing to me is we made a shortcut for the public to show in Shanghai Biennale which is an important official artistic exhibition.
