2023-10-30 First inspection
- it's a HP7475 A3 plotter coming from WdKA
- its printed on it:
- "craps out midway"
- "unreliable"
- something is broken in the pen plotter holder mechanics. maybe its fixable
- it can receive data from the computer, but after some movement there is an error code
- maybe a problem with the motor/encoder???
2023-10-30 3d printed Carousel part
A broken part is 3d printed that is supposed to fix the carousel.
2023-11-24 Blue tapeification
- Sometimes the paper would get stuck in a ridge. Alessia and Thijs fixed this by covering the ridge with a piece of blue tape.
2023-12-14 Plotterheist and notes by Thijs
December 12th, the final day before the holidays, Manetta and Joseph encouraged Thijs to take home a plotter. (Someone has to feed it paper over the break) The 13th, Alessia and Thijs orchestrated a plotterheist. The plotter safely made its way to Thijs's place.
Some notes by Thijs:
- The printer will often throw an error when drawing manually. Maybe issues around the bounds?
- Something is still off with the carousel. When the plotter starts, it sounds like something is stuck for ~5 seconds, before the carousel starts rotating.
2024-09-04 Dip Switch Check-up
While tinkering with an HP7475A at De Boog and having to try several dip switch configurations in the hopes of making the plotter listen to the connected laptop, it seemed that there was an unfortunate reality to reconcile with: the wiki had no dip switch documentation for this plotter.
