Pelle selfportrait
Explanation
Listener, write below a summary of this selfportrait which explains to the group what excitement & fears this person brings to the group:
Pelle shows 2 pictures for her self portrait displaying every of the two feelings in a single image. Whilst she is more of a dog person herself, she took a photo of the house cat, which her roommates wanted, together with a book about meat consumption and vegetarianism. She choose to take the picture because of her herself becoming a vegetarian three years ago, trying to help the planet however she can. It was difficult for her in the beginning because she actually really liked the taste of meat but got used to it by now and gets hope out of helping the planet this way.
The second picture, showing a painting of a, now deceased, friend of her fathers, portrays her fear of the night and having nightmares, which is technically a fear from a bit longer ago thats surfacing from time to time in stressful situations. More recently she is a little afraid of talking English in a group setting, in classes as an example, because she fears not being able to properly express herself or getting stuff wrong whilst trying to express herself. After a day of school and classes she would sometimes have thoughts about if what she said was correct and what she actually wanted to say. To combat this she is trying to engage more with the english language by trying to talk primarily english with her friends, which helps her get more comfortable with speaking english.
