Why so many movies not in full 16:9 aspect ratio..specially Blu-ray? Howzit guys. Is there a reason for this? We have such fancy TV's now with 16:9 aspect ratios...but when we watch Bluray.... we only have the middle part of our screens used and the rest are damn black bars! :-( The mojority of movies instead of being 1920 x 1080 resolution is actually 1920 x 800 or something when you remove the black bars. Why dont they just film the movies at a aspect ratio that will make full use of Bluray and our HD TV's? Do you guys not get irritated by this?
