Typewriter Orchestra (Robin, Daan, Ema)
Conversation #1
Robin:
- Works together with Daan and Ema on a "Typewriter Orchestra"
- Experimenting with the dot matrix printer which will create the base rythm for their orchestra
- Typwriters will be the extra 'melody ' on top
- Maybe using some sytetisers to modify these sound
- Foleded BOOK reference from EMA
- Thinking on the even setting (visual outcome maybe a score to recreate the play of the orchestra)
- Interested in the tension between orality and literacy by translating a performance into one another

- mocap
- found databases of full body suit motions
- managed to load in blender in c3d format
- depth scanner > hologram

- Many ideas, bit of a mess.
- Steve suggested doing a collection of ideas, collection of protocols
- 1st idea: About machine. 1001 nights. Story inside a story. It inspired me to make this machine. This led to my site.
- 2nd idea: A machine about definition. Because a lot of times i need to look up the definition of a word in English. And when I dont know a word in the definition, I need to look up that word again. And again, and so on. It's infinite, this gave the idea for the definition machine.
- 3rd idea: Machine about translation, but not about the meaning of word but the shape of the word. But this one is still vague.
- Way of presenting: making a group.
Conversation #2
- multiple writing machines
- all with their own structures/protocols
- 1001 story machine/chat bot?
- loop over items in stories, to feed back a story from the book
- a story from the story
- casted loops

Conversation #1
- Leaning towards text-adventure chatbot direction - big possibility
- Thinking of: Frankenstein, linking the computer to nature.
- Example of the instructions to the Hobbit, what if you don't get these instructions?
- Is looking for a groupproject in our class: where do I end and where does group begin?
- How to install all projects at WORM/curation: Showing things that are beautiful on it's own but which do co-exist under one roof. Patchwork of different projects, cross-referring in different projects.
- A cool way to navigate would be to make a walking tour, the whole event as a text-adventure design.
- The whole event as a writing machine on a larger scale.
Conversation #2
- feminist chat bot
- barbara
- insipired by eliza
- text adventure, inspired by carrier bag of theory, response to combats in video game culture
- instead of a hunter, you are a gatherer
- Barbara & Youjung are thinking of connecting these two! 👆👇
- poetry and small drawings, small messages

Conversation #1
- not connecting ideas together yet
- interested in videogames (digital) and playingcards (non-digital)
- for the even he wants to combine these two somehow
- in a way that it focuses on the interaction with the audience
- 1st idea: Take the card game he was talking about in the radio and give his own twist which comes from a museum in Hilversum which creates a personal card/record of the visit for each viitors that they can take home visiting the museum . GREAT iddea in my opinion

- Other small teams than the Typewriter Orchestra > Sybil > Food theme
- Having food at the event would be nice, to not be hungry> counts for the public and ourselves as class.
- Workshop about fermenting
- Started reading Walking and Mapping: Artists as Cartographers
- Maybe incorporating walking as exploring as a machine?
- Youjung: incorporating a maze > Lea found fluxus maze > through the building maybe(?) maybe guiding them and stopping for a snack
Conversation #2
- walking algorithm as writing machine
- book: walking and mapping
- to explore the surroundings in scripted ways
- send people outside during the event?
- maybe connection possible to the event map/adventure?
