notes about my family history
(collected information through email correspondence with my grandfather / his genealogical bookwork about our family tree):
My grandfather's grandfather was a Dutchmen called Jacobus Carolus (van Bochove) who moved to Suriname around the 1880s (?).
There isn't a lot known of him.
He was born in 1866, he moved to Suriname at a young age (he had his first child at the tender age of 23 in 1889) and he was a military man.
Both his parents died shortly after each other, at a young age (around their mid-thirties) allegedly from a cholera epidemic.
