Between Being from Olle Lundin is a work I saw at TENT on Sunday. It consists of three screens each with a camera attached.
On the screen on the left you see yourself and on the right, you see hashtags that are pulled from a database via face-recognition. The hashtags are queer/gender-related hashtags found on forums.
RELATION TO PRACTICE:
If you see this work as a Technology of the Self some interesting questions pop up. Does this work tell you more about yourself or about the technology and its underlying structure and creators. Does it tell you about yourself or about our culture and our online behavior and our society? For me it does the latter.
