With people storing their life more and more digital it have made the loss of that information more easy. Before people had to deal with fire and floods.. now its a dead hard-drive or online services closing down over night. +++text+++text++++text+++++++++++++ more to be written.......
A lot of people are venting their tech frustrations online and posting it on Twitter, why not use all of this information for my project? To make it easy to get this information, one can make and use a twitter-bot to search and re tweet tweets on the subject, that will help me to make a "archive" or ........

Blogs
Do a similar thing as the twitter, search and collect online blog posts on the topic of data-loss.
Forum Posts
I went one some internett forums and ask some questions related to data loss vintage-computer.com Vintage-Computer got really technical and of course focus on "vintage computers"
Toms Hardware Not a active forum, hardly any replay.
Because of the low replay and lack of time to focus, I have dropped the online-forum angel to the project.
Python Code / FILTER
Using Python code to filter the CSV file that I get from Twtiter when downloading the archive. (help from Michael understanding it)
from csv import DictReader
"""
Run me with:
python tweets.py > tweets.txt
pandoc --from markdown --to html tweets.txt --standalone --css tweets.css > tweets.html
"""
f = open("tweets.csv")
r = DictReader(f)
for row in r:
# print row
print "#", row['retweeted_status_timestamp']
print
print row['text']
print
print
<c/ode>
To get a text file with formatting like this:
- 2015-05-17 13:22:05 +0000
RT @TheTitanova: Pretty sure my portable hard drive with all my videos and footage just died, lol.
Then use Regular expressions code to look at the content do figure out the next move..
import re
text = open("tweets.txt").read()
for match in re.findall(r"drive died \w+", text):
print match <\code>
then get files like this
drive died and
drive died today
drive died in
drive died and
drive died after
drive died today
drive died and
drive died today
drive died and
drive died and
drive died after
drive died pretty
drive died and
drive died few
drive died so
drive died and
drive died today
drive died but
drive died so
drive died last
drive died on
drive died so
drive died last
drive died last
drive died again
drive died on
drive died today
drive died in
drive died so
drive died i
drive died for
drive died 4
drive died and
drive died and
drive died and
drive died a
drive died together
