" poetry relies on associations between images, al-Farabi argued; the listener (or, I would add, the viewer) need to mentally bridge the image and its object." in Baghdad 830: Birth of the Algorithm - Laura U.Marks
INDIVIDUAL & SOCIETY
Our relations to these surroundings,
- liberating and enslaving -
the power of the "Controller" secured by the paranoia of ours.
Personal information is digitized, and controlled,
humans converted into data.
Codification of space & time,
a world made of software & hardware.
Society of performance,
freedomless society.
Participatory 'surveillance',
Self regulation,
Training.
Protection!
hierarchy,
----- Tracking -
invisible network that tides people together.
Observing,
being observed.
Deindividuation self awareness.
Control is a short-term and of rapid rates of turnover, but also continuous and without limit, while discipline was of long duration, infinite and discontinuous – endless system
Classical conditioning.
