The day will be organised in such a way that at the beginning of the day all the projects will be 'launched' and can be discussed or presented if the designers intend to do so. Another possible way to give structure to the event is to divide the group into clusters, which will group similar projects together. Tags can be created for the projects and also on the exhibition (or, launch party) the projects can be placed next to each other to have a better overview.

Thematic Project – The Creative Industry
A day filled with idea's that need (financial)support so they can be launched. The goal of the day is attracting and teaching people about the concept and usage of these prototypes.

The event could be organised in such a way that there will be individual presentations about the work throughout the day. This means we could work with a time schedule, where every projects get's a certain amount of time to be spoken and discussed about.

Certain existing models can be found that are dealing with or have dealt with the launch of new prototypes or ideas. TED talks are hosted in many cities throughout the world and this model could be used to design our own "PZI Talk". The several projects that will be shown have a thing in common as they all in one way or another embody a creative industry.

So with ' The Creative Industry' as a theme for the exhibition, I want to create a visual identity for the whole show. How can I bring all these projects together under one wing? The projects should be shown within a bigger context, in this case the fictional host of the day has invited the participants to show their work. How can this host be created and identified? There are several ways to bind together all the participants: The design of name tags, posters/flyers announcing the event, stands where the participants can explain their work, slogans and motivational words that describe the show (example: "Ideas worth spreading" by TEDtalks), teasers of the event.

There was a show on Dutch television called "Het beste idee van Nederland" this translates as: "The best idea of The Netherlands", although the structure of the show is mostly based around the verdict of a jury, which shouldn't happen in our event, the presentation of the various projects was quite interesting and felt very personal, this is something we can work with. There are many fairs hosted throughout the world that are showing a certain kind of product. In this sense the product can be a physical thing, for example: cars, toys, photographs, books, mobile homes, clothing, food and beverage etc., or it can be something non-physical, like a touristic destination, a job, the idea for a product etc. I think that our show will be something in-between, almost a celebration of the idea itself, not necessary the final product (although it is proposed and the prototype is there).

For our show it would be a good idea to also think about who you are? Are you a company? What kind of name will your company have and how will you present yourself at the fair.

Some questions:

  • What will be the name of the event?
  • How would you define your project?
  • What is the name of your project/prototype?
  • As you are launching your work under a fictional company, what is the name of your company?
  • Would you like to present your work during the show (with a talk, video, presentation etc.)?

We will present our idea's! Come and see our wonderful machinery! This is our creative industry!
