*Tommi for now is only focused on bulding technical tool for the event, since he's part of the dev team. He is searching for a way on how to automatically upload stuff to the wiki from simple notes files (for example with Obsidian).

*For some sort of project for the event he has no idea for now. So i suggested him to work on what he's already doing and what his interests are. This way of bulding tools for the people, that are open and easy to use, and to come around technical difficulties tight to softwares, coding and APIs. So i suggested him to reflect on that to maybe translate this to an outcome that people can experience during the event.
*For example he might expose how sometools in reality are closed systems of language and rules (coding is exactly that), and possible ways to go around those limitations.

Typewriter Orchestra (Robin, Daan, Ema)

Conversation #1

Robin:

  • Works together with Daan and Ema on a "Typewriter Orchestra"
  • Experimenting with the dot matrix printer which will create the base rythm for their orchestra
  • Typwriters will be the extra 'melody ' on top
  • Maybe using some sytetisers to modify these sound
  • Foleded BOOK reference from EMA
  • Thinking on the even setting (visual outcome maybe a score to recreate the play of the orchestra)
  • Interested in the tension between orality and literacy by translating a performance into one another

  • Many ideas, bit of a mess.
  • Steve suggested doing a collection of ideas, collection of protocols
  • 1st idea: About machine. 1001 nights. Story inside a story. It inspired me to make this machine. This led to my site.
  • 2nd idea: A machine about definition. Because a lot of times i need to look up the definition of a word in English. And when I dont know a word in the definition, I need to look up that word again. And again, and so on. It's infinite, this gave the idea for the definition machine.
  • 3rd idea: Machine about translation, but not about the meaning of word but the shape of the word. But this one is still vague.
  • Way of presenting: making a group.
Conversation #2
  • multiple writing machines
  • all with their own structures/protocols
  • 1001 story machine/chat bot?
  • loop over items in stories, to feed back a story from the book
  • a story from the story
  • casted loops

  • Tommi for now is only focused on bulding technical tool for the event, since he's part of the dev team. He is searching for a way on how to automatically upload stuff to the wiki from simple notes files (for example with Obsidian).
  • For some sort of project for the event he has no idea for now.
  • For example he might expose how sometools in reality are closed systems of language and rules (coding is exactly that), and possible ways to go around those limitations.
