Blurpie?

Rotterdam is known to be a port to send and receive either goods, people, stocks, investments etc. The city marketing gives an idea about how 'cool' the city is. The last decade, Rotterdam suddenly changed - from being the filthy-aired, unsafe, nitty and gritty identity suffering from second city syndrome - into the idea of 'Make It Happen'. Improving the city, putting it 'back on the map'.

The idea of this rendition about how the city is, has its ups and downs. It seems that the idea of the city planning and city marketing are more keen on the rendition of impression about it how 'good' it 'looks' rather than having the appeal of a city that taking care of its civilians. This is not a hate-filled anti-local government / gentrification / housemarketing rant. It is Points of InAccess. A reaction to apps like: MeldR. A reaction to the post-card framework. A reaction to city renders that portray a landscape in a Virtual Reality without the context of the city. The poverty rate, crime numbers, homeless people.

Points of InAccess is merely a map where I (or maybe we, in the future) pinpoint (some of the) pain points. The point of departure being 'points not being able to (be) access(ed). The variations consist of anti-pedestrian, routes of impairing disabilities, images showing the future housing in such a perverse way that you just know you will never be able to afford this. Yet still living in a country bothered by the housing crisis. The frame of the project is based on Rotterdam3D / In De Buurt / blogs / maps. Depicting tourist attractions with very few to no possibilities for people in wheelchair, a busstop that is not functioning anymore so in the winter during bad weather people with certain conditions can't go for some simple groceries by 'public transport', a hill on a dyke that is a perfectly accessible pavement resulting into a dead end street because there are no ramps or small hills that could be used for crossing the street.

These kinds of bugs are in need of some proper patching and the intention of this project is to nudge the municipal hardware / software / developers into actually fixing these glitches rather than scanning the city and showcasing 3D prints and scans that lack social/cultural/health-based/etc dimensions.

Hello! I'm honored to introduce you to this top points of inacCess I will be your detourguide from the city :)

\Before we start, what does inaccess mean?

Not being able to access something. So, it could be anything? Yes.

Well let's start!

We start at doxxing myself;

VAN DER SLUYSSTRAAT 174. I live two stories high in a two room appartment. What's there to complain about? Well. There is no elevator! So my brother [ who is in a wheelchair] can't visit me :)

The other day there was a neighbor that was being transported by help folks and he needed to be carried from a point to downstairs.
