Definitions

1. adj. relating to or using signals or information represented by a continuously variable physical quantity such as spatial position, voltage, etc.

2. noun. Something that is comparable/interchangable with another thing.

In the context of Xpub analog is used to discribe non-digital technologies, that is technolgoies that don't rely on 0s and 1s, but rather a continous (usually) voltage e.g. Sound signals from the mixer to the osciloscope.

Application

"will you pass me that analog signal cable so I can plug it into the oscilloscope"
