- Sinazongwe, Zambia: Voices singing in the dark..., by radio continental drift, 28.07.2018 18:35, CC-BY-SA
walking home in the evening from Zongwe FM studio at Sinazongwe Primary, i hear singing by many voices in the dim light... i come closer and linger for a moment among the groups of young people... there had been a choir rehearsal at the Adventist church... now choir folk is still lingering in small groups continuing with their singing...
It reminded me about the experience that I have when I went volunteering in Tarragona in Catalonia for the first time. I was helping to prepare a msic festival from scratch. This trip was very special, and I met amazing people there. Me and my friend that I went with became very close friends with a girl called Dolca and affter the festival we stayed at her family house. One evening we prepared dinner with her family and we ate it on the rooftopof the old building were they were living. It was already dark and they started to sing, Dolca, her little sister Nina and their mum and it was so deeply moving that I cried. Sharing food and singing created this special bond between us and it was so liberating at the same time. The recording many voices singing reminded me about that.
