De problemen beginnen als bezoekster Yvonne de Horde uit Zoetermeer bij het gorillaeiland aankomt. Ze komt daar “bijna dagelijks”, want Bokito is “haar lieveling”, zegt ze twee dagen later in de Telegraaf: ''“Sinds hij in Blijdorp zit, maak ik contact met hem.
