<p>Practices such as Soft and Live Cinema explored non-linear approaches to storytelling. These practices aimed to offer alternatives to the conventions of cinema. We will trace connections between these non-linear procedures and artistic practices that make use of chance, from Dadaism to chance-operations inspired by the “I Ching”.</p>
