This thematic will interrogate in theory and praxis the mutable contours of narrative strategies from early cinema, documentary practices, YouTube instructional clips to data driven speculative scenarios. A variety of approaches will be explored such as appropriating and re-positioning the conventions of live narrative “lecturers" or “explicateurs" from the silent era that coalesce with more contemporary practices of what is commonly known as the performance lecture.
