It is an experimental short film, about 10mins, including several video clips and motion graphic images.
(tentative)-The way of presentation would be live visual & audio show, with the help from a friend of mine.
In this film, I would like to show things from broken to completeness. For instance: beach being perfectly flat after washed by wave, broken lines gathering into a circle, the crack on wall being vanished by oil color etc.
My inspiration is from my best friend’s name—Xin Yuan. After her mom remarried, she renamed my friend as Xin Yuan, hoping for a state of completeness in their future life, and never being separated. People want the sense of completeness, which is different from perfect. In my point of view, perfect is an unreachable state and people cannot control it, but completeness is artificial, people feel it then they get it. Therefore, people would like to chase completeness instead of perfect.
But I wander if people really endure the emptiness and broken after everything is done, like the silent beach after falling tide, and lovers and families always being a trend of separate until the end, people all know it. Then, maybe, people already have what they want when they make their mind to get, the broken part is the end of completeness, which is what I want to express in this film.
