Inspiration from the Zeeuw Museum in Middelburg, Zeeland De Roeping van Mattheus by Marinus van Reymerswale (so they think)

I choose this painting because I was inspired by the story, the story before it gets to the museum. Before it was in 5 pieces of wood, painted. They restored it, but a lot of information got lost. In an interview what you can watch at the website (see link below), they could not confirm that Marinus really painted it. So is it an original or a copy? They couldn’t figure it out, but still they place the name of Marinus under need the painting. This got me questing, so with my work I want this question to get to the public. With this work, they can figure it out for them self of the work is an original or an copy. The five pieces stands for what the painting was before they restore it. Before the loss of curtain information.
