IMAGE-Media Object

image as a medium that contains (carries) information. Based on the analogy between text and image proposed by the early media theorist Flusser and Mcluhan who made a dichotomy between these two mediums. Where text is linear-has a beginning and an end (as in a sentence) image are non linear- the information is spread on a surface. where in text each word (element) has to be placed accurately-one after another in the image elements are presented simultaneously ( all at once). this affects on how we receive-absorbs the information from the each medium.

Division made by Flusser:

Image Text
magic logic

imagination rationality
