Our routine:

1) You send Steve your latest draft on the Monday before each GRS session

2) Steve gives written feedback ahead of that session (which you will receive on Tuesday or Wednesday).

3) We will discuss your text and the feedback I’ve given in the tutorial on Thursday.

In this way we set up a rhythm where

a) you consistently build on your text,

b) you have time to reflect on any comments I have, and

c) we set realistic aims and objectives ahead of the next meeting.

Session (1) agenda:

How the group will work together over the year = as a group; giving feedback on drafts; feedback on project; line editing; individual tutorials with Steve (see above). Beware the post-Xmas dip! Never lose the connection between making work and writing the thesis.

Hi all

Looking forward to meeting on Thursday AM to discuss how your project is progressing. Don't forget to sign up. Be prepared to show rapid prototypes/work in progress.

In that meeting, I would also like to spend 5 minutes discussing how each of you plan to present your final project at the assessment in January. Please lead with the basics: what is your final project?; how do you plan to make it?; how does it relate to earlier work? Remember your proposal will be the guide during the assessment and can help you structure your presentation in January.

In the afternoon, I will be discussing progress on the thesis with you individually. Please send (link to) the latest draft on Monday or Tuesday and I will give written feedback, this will form the basis of our 1to1 tutorial.
