a shift is a unit of time especially one that is sold by an individual. also to shift the face off someone, to kiss, the face of my shift key has worn down from our constant interactions. has my left little finger worn down too in the same way? are they both ok with this change from their constant impacts, i think so, its a slow violence but also a love.

control is a cybernetic idea that i dont really want to work with. although i like the original etymology of cybernetics: its to do with steering a vessel. what if this key was more about surfing, pointing your board closer to the direction you want to go. if the interaction is between bodies of water like when the tide comes the whole way up the river is rotterdam a coastal city.
fn
short for "fun"
⊞
this button appears to be a picture of a section of the keyboard, in fact most likely Z and X above it, itself and the (unknown) key to it's right, which makes it the most meta key.

The original use of this key can no longer be identified, although some scholars have suggested it may be related to the shift key which carries similar markings.
