screen shot from intended eye film> I did not show this because it is at a draft stage. The project starts with the concept of displacement. I came from Thailand three months ago and I see things which are unfamiliar and occasionally see things I recognise. These small things give me a spiritual connection To my homeland. The

This is mesh that are wrapped around the trees. This reminded me . The vivid colours are reproduced in a sponge, which I rearrange in the Thie flag. I relate this sponge with the propaganda of the king which depicted him as a godlike figure. He is able to make people love him through promoting values hard work and patriotism. He draws on an iconic history to the fullest. He showed a picture of his shoe which is humble and his pencils which are well used and toothpaste tubes which are really well squeezed. (values ) Steve: you are raising something very humble into a high state (elevated,) Q: how dost make you feel? A: it feels like it is going to be special. I feel curious. What came before? The feeling of wonderment and the curiosity of seeing the thing that belongs in another place. (uncanny)

What came after? The next step.I am going to make a fictional film of that follows the sponge from the perspective of a poor family a. The story inspired by the king of Thailand

how do I think it should make me feel? I want the audience to feel curious, with the sense of houmor. with uncanny visual. Make peope feel curiuous and make them to interpret in their own way. Its imposible to read it as I do, but want them to link it to their own experience. To make them to relate to the different things that are familliar to them.

What would you (would not) change? I only took the picture a sponge. Instead of using still images i am going to make videos of the sponge. I wouldnt change the focus of the sponge as the main character.

the image of the fabric of the trees will be present.

what does it change? If the direction of the film is going to be straightfoward (i I speak directly for/about the king) and if people would see it back in Thailand I would be punished for 112. Need to make it not as direct, more symbolic. Also I never worked with fiction before, so it's a new way of working for me.

how difficult? Most difficult thing is to finish it on time. I still have a lot of ideas that I have to finalize. tHe production part is not that difficult, because it is kind of lowkey, so I am not too worried about that.

The feeling of displacement gets to much, memories of home inhabit me and I get to feel home everywhere

Chapter one is the childhood house in which I grew up. This holds memories and forms feelings I have about home. Now I am away from home I remember those feelings wh In the third part everywhere I am is my home.

I feel at home in Rotterdam BUT I am like a ghost stuck between two worlds. In Rotterdam I will never feelthe same but I have grown and learned a lot over the last 4-6 years in Rotterdam.

Snow Te gets the feeling of loneliness, but the sound of the burning fireplace = the image of snow one feels, this is a very Lithuanian winter with lots of snow. It doesn't snow so much now. Image 2 The buildings are characteristic of Rotterdam. I wanted to make a feeling of displacement. A lot of everything that makes you feel lost for the first time but becomes more familiar as you get used to. 3: a poem reflecting the feeling on loneliness; b)from this solitude I draw on memories of Vilnius and become reconciled with the present location. It is not that you remember things it is that things that are new become familiar, so it is possible to find compfort in tall buildings.

note two really nice things about this: the poem as a form and the essayistic form. This isn't nostalgia but rather a transformation.

Choices:

how do I think it should make me feel? I want audience to have mesh feeling of being lonely, encountering solitude. Feeling something distant but very close at the same time. Cold but comforting.

What would you (would not) change? Ine suggests (for EYE) to embrace one part instead of trying to keep 3 chapters which seem like trailer. Wouldn't change the poerty. For the EYE, will choose only 1 language. Will change-> re-record the sound to make it more clean especially the poetry part.

What does it change? It's gonna change me as an artist. Because it will get out sth that stuck in my head for a couple of years. And using new tool which is poetry.

How difficult? It's difficult to put everything in limited length of video. And it's difficult to make the decision of what to use/ not to use. The sound software is also challenging.
