Kid of the internet is a collection of visual and written essays about growing up in a post-industrial, abandoned town in Romania, in the midst of technological advancement. Autobiographical and at points fictional, the publication traces the life changing impact of the infiltration of the internet in the author’s life and her home town community. The stories look at the relationship between the working class and technology, as well as the discrepancies created in the rural, yet industrial landscape when the internet emerged into everyone’s houses.
