Welcome to the year 2 journaling page. This is the page where Peach documents the sessions and classes during the year in a relatively objective manner. In the Year 2 Thoughts page, you can find ideations, observations and thoughts.

Collaboration, Conflict & Consent
PAD
-Workshop with Eleanor Greenhalgh, as we did at the beginning of the last year.
-This year's workshop was more focused on supporting each other and finding ways to connect rather than learning to collaborate and resolve conflict.
-We suggested strategies that can help us communicate better, stay connected with each other and care for both our and others' mental health.
-For me, the main take outs of this workshop was that we need to focus on connection beyond our classes and sessions, be open when we are struggling with work or personal life, and be non-judgemental towards others when they share their struggles, so that everyone can be open and be heard.

Graduate Seminar -1-
-Introductory session on how the graduate seminars will work.
-Since this was our first formal session with Lens Based, we introduced ourselves, talked about our work and our interests, what we did during summer, etc.
-There is more info about the seminars on the Graduate Seminar 2020-2021 page.

Py.rate.chnic session -1-
-On this session we brought material that interested us and can possibly be the starting point of a py.rate.chnic session. The materials I selected:
- Aouragh, M. and Chakravartty, P. (2016). Infrastructures of empire: towards a critical geopolitics of media and information studies. Media, Culture & Society, 38(4), pp.559–575.
- Eye on Design. (2020). If We Want Design to be a Tool for Liberation, We’ll Need More Than Good Intentions. [online] Available at: https://eyeondesign.aiga.org/for-design-to-truly-be-a-tool-for-liberation-were-going-to-need-more-than-just-good-intentions/
-Infrastructures of empire: towards a critical geopolitics of media and information studies was for the content and If We Want Design to be a Tool for Liberation, We’ll Need More Than Good Intentions for it's motivations.
-I want to explore censorship, propaganda and access to information on my masters project, and this is in part motivated by my background in design and desire to do "meaningful" and "useful" design work.
-We discussed what formats can our sessions take (which can be found on the pad) Clara, Anna and I teamed up for the py.rate.chnic session and we will be meeting up later this week.
September 22
Session With Aymeric
-We discussed our projects, what we did in summer and why we chose the specific subjects.
-We also talked about the project proposal, which is due the end of 1st trimester.
- The proposal will determine if we have a solid foundation dor a master project.
- The proposal shouldn't get too speculative, and develop in parallel with prototyping and research.
- It's important to frame which direction we want to go as soon as possible. Setting a clear goal is important.
