Violence today is depicted in a stylish manner that is disconnected from reality. The meaning of violence shifted towards a perfectly choreographed liberating dance, instead of an act of hopelessness. Wrestling on television shows is displayed in a highly controlled environment. Young people living in highly structured societies easily identifiy with the protagonists living on the border of such a society. Violence is a part of life and death. Death foreshadows rebirth. Wrestling or shooting game fans might never hurt anyone, but they are altering the meaning of violence, and the possibilities of expressing fear in a socially acceptable way.
