Interview Guidelines

Some keywords for the interview, to give an outline of what kind of tone of voice we want the interviews to have: Conversational, personal, playful, talkative, social, illuminate the beautiful community that is XPUB(2)

Technical requirements:

  • Markdown, deliver on Zulip to Bernadette
  • Interviewer is responsible for submitting the transcript.
  • Wordcount: MAX ~2500 words, less is pleasant. According to science this amounts to about ~15 minutes of interview.

Keep in mind that you might want to add images as well, this is the wordcount without images.

General question to start of the interview:

What does floating mean to you? Are you floating?

AND

(How)Did your practice change from entering XPUB in comparison to 'leaving' XPUB?

We decided on two for a fine balance between a general open question and a more focused, practice-specific one.

How to conduct interview:

There is a plethora of ways to conduct an interview, agree with your buddy what works best for you, here are some suggestions on methods:

  • Meeting IRL and having a face-to-face interview — this means that the responsibilities of the transcript and initial edit befall on you
  • Text-message based interviews — "Live chat" where you can ask follow up questions
  • Sending a list of questions – "E-mail format"

There is a huge bank of questions generated on Monday 12th may that might be useful. See line 591 in the pad:
