On older chat/messaging protocols

    • be careful, when mentioning "the web" because some of them predate the web, and existed in internet prior to the web

Perhaps: interesting to look into Thimbl project by the Telekommunist https://blog.mikepearce.net/2011/02/02/give-thimbl-the-open-web-award/ https://networkcultures.org/blog/publication/no-03-the-telekommunist-manifesto-dmytri-kleiner/

Need to clarify terms:

  • server vs. client what is one is should be clarified
  • federated

Enactment of the network topologies: interesting, but perphas you could give assignments to some of server / client. Like a client that is trying to spam every all the other clients; One server that copies everything;

I think it is an important to expose the participants to different chat protocols.

It would be interesting to have peer-to-peer protocol to play
