The Lijnbaan Event
Perhaps I did not succeed in correcting the supposed identifications of the people around the Lijnbaan but I do think I succeeded in presenting a portrait of a conditioned indifference (perhaps cultural - perhaps not) within the most centralized commercial area of Rotterdam.
The Lijnbaan is Rotterdam's most centralized commercial district, an attractor for the witty, the lost, the hip, the bitter or what have you -- it is where people from different "networks" converge, indifferently to one another, for the sake of their personal agendas. My idea was to "hack" this network with my own indifference by becoming both non-communicative and blind; a site-specific dance event that showcases what happens in a offline-network, such as the Lijnbaan, and how the effort of id-correction is a difficult notion to master within such a context (as clearly demonstrated in this video).
