Janis Klimanovs (LV) looks through an optical lens and creates a mix of still and moving images. The field of interest is to observe and capture pure, innocent actions that arise from daily life. Duality and gentle irony are important elements in his work.
abstract
Memories vanish with time. Interpretation of memory is based on stories, documents and images. I am looking back at my roots and discover what kind of memories are important for them and at the same time I am collating and channeling these stories and creating my own archive.
