Janis Klimanovs (LV) looks through an optical lens and creates a mix of still and moving images. He observes and captures pure, innocent actions from daily life. Duality is an important element in his work.

Memories vanish with time. The nostalgic action of remembering is based on stories, documents, images and interpretation. Klimanovs returned to his family and discovered what kinds of memories are important for them. He collated and channeled these stories, creating his own archive of memories.
