Thinking about technical exercises around: *Making something queryable*.... Might involve technology/tools such as SQLalchemy, whoosh, or .... others.

Media archaeology as a way to resist/revisit the "techno-fix"...

Databases about: Separate things in order to bring them together again.

Embodiment is often stalled, because in the drive to get things to work, issues of embodiment and complexity are put to the side.

Tension between making things, and making things differently .. thinking about...

Approach: make things quickly, give space to look critically.

Outcome as a workshop / scan station at leeszaal as example -- a situation that allows people to experience something and then discuss.

Technology/systems as experiences... that can be reflective

Systems that encourage co-exploration of shared concepts (rather than hide away "underlying" details) ... Interesting to explore the (linguistic / conceptual) affinities between systems --- such as in visualizing

  • SQL (Alchemy) results with HTML tables (rows ... columns). or exploring
  • NLTK and page layout via respective concepts of "words" and "word spacing".
