Trace, Being, Time and Reality (不在场的存在)

so far I only reach the point that I have some topic which interested me.

As the development of my dust project, my growing interest towards time, being and reality leading me to a possible project.

Google map. (online/ offline)______Memory and Geography location. “Trace” both Geography sense and physical sense.

absent, noise. trace...

the trace as a evidence of exist. but the object or figure is absent.

trace, figure, remainder, indentation. video with a loose narrative in which you see the trace of the object dissappear. (Cusion blanket, couch, human skin, memory foam, waves and sand) How objects document time.

Sound: 1) Minimal - it is what it is just showing time and objects = how time is recorded by objects 2) google maps - not in china- panoramio (tries to be objective but becomes a weird dream space. How does this relate to the trace = location, emptiness, intention to avoid human presence, produces a different reality.

Introduction

As the development of my series dust project, my growing interest towards time, trace and reality leading me to some possible projects.

How small object Our relation with objects, which surrounds us.

I start to look at small objects how is changing during time extend, soft surface start to recover from the pressure or imprints given by others. Try to document this phenomenon reflect on time, being and mixed reality (Mediated memories, multi- realities).

Relation to previous practice

steps of my practise:(things i want to do before i made my mind for my graduation project)

When I look back of my original motivation of using dust as a media object to create works. I notice everything start with my moment of experience. “My fascination towards "noise" start with my biking experience in a windy and heavy snowing weather in Rotterdam. Intensive snow flares coming towards my eyes with strong wind. I can't see the road ahead. Everything is white and blurry and flickery. My sense was weakening at that moment. I can hear Traffic is passing by. But I don't know which direction they are heading. Coming towards me or passing away? At that moment I feel like I am in another dimension. I don't know where I am. Where I am heading. I am seeing and hearing intensive information, but somehow I feel lost, experiencing silence and void.”

Sense of lost both Geographically and cultural identity.

Relation to a larger context

Practical steps

Observe the trace around me, write and draw story board and dirctional script.

1.trace, figure, remainder, indentation. video with a loose narrative in which you see the trace of the object disappear. ( Cushion blanket, couch, human skin, memory foam, waves and sand) How objects document time. Sound: Minimal - it is what it is just showing time and objects = how time is recorded by objects

1. memory dust trace of location.

2. continue with dust project(focus on unpack it) reveal the material. physical materials/ plants decaying inside the film stock. document the process. ... ...just show more of the process of making and collecting the dust.. show raw material as sculpture installation or display the raw footage of 16mm until it got eaten by projector.

(need to be careful yo deal with analog and digital media at the same time. inspired by analog experimental cinema. however need to think about how to present it in this age. not just repeats the same thing which is already done 60s and 70s.)

3. with surreal realities. digital awkwardness of virtual realities. Google map... online playful project just for fun.
