WHAT

A video. The frozen camera stares, fixed, at a birch forest. A yellow figure runs across the frame, flickering between trees. Its feet crushing and cracking on ground covered by brittle wood. Out of frame, we hear the runner move behind us until it reappears in the video again.

HOW A still video camera on a tripod recording a movement. A woman, a mother, standing still next to it with apparatus in her ears - a binaural stereo microphone. Listening, she does not make a sound. Her body upholding the device, furthering the transmission.

WHY A young man, a student, is trying to learn how to understand all the things.

WHAT

There is a room with white walls and windows on one side. On two of the walls there are 103 unmounted black and white photographs measuring 15x15cm. They hang scattered with a gravitational centre in a corner. A spiral galaxy. The pictures trace: waters, stone, forest and weather.

HOW The photographs were made during activities, such as walks or attending the land, in the surroundings of a rural house in Sweden during four years. The films were left in a cloth bag undeveloped. Later they were developed into negatives in Scotland, and printed onto photographic paper in the Netherlands.

WHY The reason for displaying the photographs was to create a room for visitors to investigate and reflect on the recording of particular things at particular moments in time. Inhabitants could explore meaning and form an experience together with other things that were also in the room.
