Sara Vide Ericson’s panting Liar III has a dark, obscure depth to it, portraying a person standing on their knees in an empty landscape, posing if they were to strangle themselves. The powerful motion of the two hands around the trough in the kneeled down position directly gives you the interpretation that something is wrong. In fact very wrong and that someone just opened Pandora’s box. The strong way these still gestures communicate with us in a both straightforward and abstract way is particular interesting for me and my won practice at the moment. A practice, where I am researching non-verbal communication through body language and how we can transmit narratives and memories through movements and gestures. Where I strive after to find that duality of straightforwardness and abstraction.
