On this page I will document some of my explorations with regular expressions.
This is a draft.
I find regular expressions to be awkward at times. They often do not say what they are. We as regular persons also regularly express ourselves awkwardly, and often we do not say what we intend.
For Special Issue 22 -- Protocols for an Active Archive -- we've stumbled upon a 'language barrier' again and again. Not one of the English language, but of our own implicit semantics of (intentionally?) vague words such as 'protocol' and 'archive'. We have used these words a lot, but to me, it hasn't always been clear what we've been saying.
I want to take the context of these vague words and see if some (new) (faux) (non-) (true) meaning can be distilled when taken out of context, shuffled around, chopchopped up, ...
At the same time, this page is a challenge to my own regularity in expression. I tend to be very wordy and although I think this is true to my stream of consiousness, I feel like there might me one layer of self-censoring too many.
