The 24th of February I traveled to Beijing to for 11 days so I wasn't able to use Facebook. So I decided to try and break the Guinness World Book of Records of most comments on one post, which is as of this day 1001192 comments (See this Fox40 news reportage of the current record holders). The post
What initially started as a comment on Internet censorship in China, content generation with Facebook and as a 'hello' to the woman in the video above became an endurance piece, isolating what a vast number one million really is.
Selfsurfing
Selfsurfing is a Chrome extension that creates a self-surfing, auto-updating clone of my browser in real time.
My browser has a server extension installed which transmits the current state of my browser to a intermediate server, which holds all relevant information. This information is then picked up by Selfsurfing extension. source code
Ever since I made ‘Im Here And There’ I wanted to extend it to focus more on the whole experience of surfing and not just the locations, to create a version of my web and my browsing that comes closer to the original experience.
LTAP (working title)
An online one to one chat, which requires each user to upload/submit an image to enter the chat room. LTAP is a collaboration with Louis Doulas and Harry Burke, to create a website that facilitates and encourages a one to one discussion about pictures.
All the conversations are stored in a database and archived, so they can be played back at a later state. This will allow us to discover discussion patters in relation to specific images, as the conversations can be selected based on what image was discussed or what was said.
