A sculpture/construction made from a old paper. The length of it is 1,24 cm, the maximum width is 23 cm and the minimum 14 cm, the height of the object is the same as the papers less than a millimeter.
Narrow paper stripes glued next to each other, almost over lay in full width.
 
I found a really old book in a second hand store; the pages of the book had a different texture from the impact of time. Specially the end of each page was changed, it had yellow marks (‘slightly foxed’).
I decided to work with the signs of the time on the paper. I cut the edges off each page then glued them down so that they overlap, suggesting the texture of a feather.
What fascinates me about the quality of the paper is the fact hat this book has been there for so long, that it sometimes has notes and it doesn’t have anything to do with the content, just like the book itself. I always collect books that I don’t really like in terms of their thematic, they have a particular shape, the paper, the cover, the way the technical information about the production of the book is written, dates and who made it but I’m not interested in the content.  I often get books in languages I don’t understand, I some time find interesting the typography or the book it self.

The length of it is 124 cm, the width varies from 14 to 23 cm.
It is made from narrow paper strips glued side by side, flat and slightly overlapped.
The paper is from an old book found in a second hand store; each page of the book had a different texture created by the effects of time. This was especially noticeable on the edges of each page that were all slightly foxed. I decided to work with these signs of time on the paper.
The texture of the object is similar to a feather or to the underside of a mushroom.
What fascinates me about old books, is not necessary its content, but the transfiguration of the paper through time. I am interested in the form, shape and the material of the book. Equally important is the technical information usually written at the back of the book—where it was printed, how many copies were printed, the kind of the paper, the date.
I often collect books in languages that I don’t understand because this isolates the shapes and rhythm of the typeface, allowing me to explore their forms rather than their function.

The installation consists of two objects, two linear drawings on different fabrics.
(Somewhere between sculpture and drawing)
 
Embroidery and a screen print – [what are the properties that make them sculptures or drawing?]
 
 
The two dimension of the drawing and the three dimensions of the material.
Both of the drawings are questions of how three or two dimensions; they are cubical, but flat.
 
 
One is white and the other is dark grey. The grey one is a woolen fabric 2,40m long 50cm, width and height 5-7mm.
 
 
The white is 1.50x1.50
The machine makes a white embroidering of one centimeter wide on the grey fabric, the drawing is an irregular narrow rectangle.
The second drawing is on a white fleece fabric printed with the technique of screen-printing.
 
The sense of warmth.
The texture of a blanket.
A cover. The sense of protecting something brings the image of a grave.
A column but this time on the floor, lying horizontal on something soft.
 
A sculpture or a drawing.
Μaybe a peformative object, if used by a dancer.

A woolen blanket, used to cover bodies, is now engraved by the showing machine turning the surface to a canvas. The out line long cubic rectangle shape that can be read as open  or closed/irregular.

A sculpture or a drawing?
The work consists of two linear designs, each one printed or embroidered on two separate fabrics made from different colored and textured polar-fleece. Both of the pieces are non-symmetrical. The color of the first piece is white; its dimensions are 150x150x 0.4 cm and an irregular cube is screen-printed on it. The second piece is dark gray; its dimensions are 240 x 50 x 0.8cm and a distorted rectangle is mechanically embroidered on it. The width of the embroidery is 1cm and the thread used is white polyester.
Do these objects have a function? Are they perhaps drawings or sculptures?
What are the properties that make something a sculpture or a drawing?
Both of the works are a question on two and three dimensions.
The starting point for the work was the properties of the polar-fleece. It is light, soft and warm. The sensation of warmth and covering this material has brings out the image of a box, a closed or open private space. Despite the fact that its name suggests that it is made from organic materials, fleece is a manufactured fabric entirely made from polyethylene terepthylene. These objects could be presented in multiple ways—folded, left on a surface, or exhibited on a wall or floor.

A collection of found objects, from the seaside some of them are manufactured objects such as toy car, a copper bell, coins, a red dice, others natural ones as pebbles, shells and some fragments of irregular plastic and metal.

Separated in groups, assembled together. Each group is creating a new form by stow the objects in such a way that the balance them self by their weight and shape.


A collection of found objects from the seaside, some of them are manufactured, toy car, a copper bell, coins, a red dice, others are natural pebbles, shells and some irregular pieces of plastic and metal.
The pictures are an enlarged prints of the objects organized in small groups, stowed in such a way that they balance from one another. (dimensions of the photographs is 200x180m

A collection of small found obgects, that time and the sea has tranformed them in sculpural fragments. Each small obgect is unique in shape, texture and colour or is just operating as an obgect that regenerates memories.

Long walks on the sea side, lots of found objects either regular or not have taken the place of the natural pebbles, mixed all together create a new icon of the seaside.
 
Each one o f the objects are unique in texture, form and color brings back memories or possible scenario of the former use. Ugly or beautiful, I can t tell I just collect them.
 
I assemble them together. Try to balance them in small groups. The new groups of them are forming an independent aggregation.
